They’re living in a world of pure imagination.

The organizers behind the recent, disastrous Willy Wonka-themed event in Scotland have some explaining to do — and Billy McFarland wants to offer his expertise in event failures.

TMZ asked McFarland, 31, for his thoughts on the “Willy’s Chocolate Experience” at the Box Hub Warehouse in Glasgow — which many have likened to his viral disastrous event, Fyre Festival.

The Wonka experience, which cost $45 a person, promised guests a “journey filled with wondrous creations and enchanting surprises” — but instead ended with kids in tears and furious parents.

The organizers, House of Illuminati, were reportedly forced to issue more than 800 refunds to upset guests. They apologized for the horrendous experience on their Facebook page.

“I am truly sorry for any upset and disappointment caused at the weekend. Refunds have been issued and will continue to do so. This was an event gone wrong, The House of Illuminati will NOT be holding any other events in the foreseeable future,”

.

A user in the comments mocked the event and compared it to the infamous Fyre Festival, writing, “Are you related to Billy McFarland?”

The convicted con artist told TMZ that the organizers of the Wonka event need to make things right as soon as possible, and if they do so, they might have the opportunity to get a second chance at Fyre Festival II.

McFarland wants to give the House of Illuminati a chance to save their reputation — with some barriers in place to make sure everything stays on course.

McFarland announced in August 2023 that Fyre Festival II is officially a go. The event will take place in the Caribbean on Dec. 6, 2024, though there are no other concrete details about the event on the website.

Back in 2017, Fyre Festival was promoted as a luxury music festival in the Bahamas, which was promoted by influencers and A-list models such as Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski, and had at one point advertised Blink-182, Pusha T, Kaytranada, Major Lazer and Lil Yachty as performers.

The disastrous event went viral, and its downfall led to documentaries on both Hulu and Netflix: “Fyre Fraud” and “Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened,” respectively.

In March 2018, McFarland pleaded guilty to wire fraud and got six years in prison — ultimately serving nearly four in federal prison for defrauding investors and committing wire fraud.
