Mark Zuckerberg wasn’t a fan of watches until he got a glimpse at the $1 million timepiece worn by India’s richest man, Anant Ambani. Zuckerberg was attending Ambani’s luxurious pre-wedding bash along with roughly 1,200 other billionaires in Jamnagar last weekend. Video of Zuckerberg fawning over the watch quickly went viral, with some castigating the Meta-founder for his “cringey” admiration of the timepiece.

The footage was posted by Ambani’s soon-to-be-bride, Radhika Chaudhary. In the 30-second clip, Zuckerberg’s wife, Priscilla Chan, can be heard asking Ambani about his “fantastic” watch, designed by Richard Mille.

“I know, I told him already,” Zuckerberg enthuses, barely able to contain himself.

The watch in question is the Richard Mille RMS10 Asia Tourbillon Koi Fish Edition. It was a couture piece designed specifically for Ambani, the son of billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani. The timepiece was crafted in 18-karat rose gold with a bezel set with factory diamonds. It cost roughly $1.25 million.

In footage of the event, Zuckerberg and Chan could be seen holding Amani’s wrist, moving the piece around to catch the light. “You know, I never really wanted a watch,” Zuckerberg tells the crowd, “but after seeing that, I was like, ‘Watches are cool.'”

“I might want that,” Chan tells Zuckerberg as the video ends. “Not that!” he responds somewhat nervously, seemingly to reassure Ambani that they won’t be relieving him of his timepiece.

“Not that one,” Chan patiently clarified to her husband, “but one like it.”

Zuckerberg and Chan have been on something of a global tour recently. Just last week, they shared photos of a large meal they shared at a Japanese McDonald’s. They were joined at Ambani’s gala by nearly 1,200 other rich folks, including Ivanka Trump, Bill Gates, Rihanna, and a host of Bollywood stars.
