Billie Lourd Gets Cast in ‘American Horror Story’ Season 7

Billie Lourd is adding a major new role to her résumé. The Scream Queens staple has just been cast in American Horror Story, which is one more reason to watch when it returns next fall.
Billie will not only be appearing in the show’s seventh season, she’ll be starring in it, Deadline reports. The Star Wars actress and daughter of Carrie Fisher will be joining the likes of Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters — and, of course, Scream Queens and AHS creator Ryan Murphy. The role might be Billie’s most political one yet, though, as the next season of the beloved show will be centered on the 2016 election that saw Donald Trump beat out Hillary Clinton to become the next president. “I don’t have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through,” Murphy said in February. “I think that will be interesting for a lot of people.”
That’s for sure. But our interest might be piqued by Billie playing someone other than Hillary Clinton, as *The Hollywood Reporter* notes that the Democratic presidential nominee and her Republican counterpart allegedly will not appear as characters in the show.
If you’ve been following Billie’s career, this move seems like the next logistical step for the rising actress. After all, she’ll be in familiar company working on American Horror Story as Murphy is the person who tapped her for her debut TV series, Scream Queens. The only questions that remain, of course, is this: Who do you think Chanel #3 would vote for? And will Billie wear the iconic earmuffs on AHS? Only time will tell.
