Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" Music Video Sparked Some Hilarious Memes
Billie Eilish’s highly anticipated studio album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? debuted earlier this spring to a No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, but it also earned another notable accolade, as far as the internet is concerned: memes. So many memes.
The album’s fifth single, “Bad Guy,” was released on March 29, 2019 — the same day as the LP itself — and the song’s corresponding music video inspired many fans to create their own interpretation of one particular moment. During the chorus, Billie sings: “I'm that bad type / Make your mama sad type / Make your girlfriend mad tight / Might seduce your dad type / I’m the bad guy, duh.” But some fans have some different ideas as to what that final line should be, and have taken it upon themselves to intercut various clips from movies and TV shows right before Billie’s flippant — and highly quotable — “duh.”
As a result, we’ve been #blessed with a slew of memes ranging from Star Wars to Game of Thrones. Captain America made an appearance in one version, while Iron Man popped up in another, and one fan even found the perfect Victoria Beckham clip to insert at the opportune moment.
While it remains to be seen whether or not Billie herself has come across the memes, knowing her sense of humor, we have a feeling that she’d get a good laugh out of them. After all, becoming a meme is pretty much the highest form of flattery when it comes to social media, which makes Billie essentially royalty in our books.
