Billie Eilish Is Your New Weekend Obsession in "bad guy"

Billie Eilish is seventeen-year-old, her debut studio album, WHEN WE FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? has only been out since Friday, and she's clearly poised to take over the world. She flies between manic and deadpan and, as she puts it in her singe "bad guy," the video for which also came out on Friday, "I'm that bad type/Make your mama sad type/Make your girlfriend mad type/Might seduce your dad type."

Eilish's music is a weird mix of pop and punk, like noir ASMR that you can dance to. Her video for "bury a friend" already established that the tracks for WHEN WE FALL ASLEEP would be glorious noire-pop, and the video for "bad guy" brings out all of those contradictions, with bright colors, blank stares, bloody noses, and tricycles. It's a list of things that sounds inexplicable on paper, but Eilish has put together an absolutely addictive way to blow a weekend.
