Billie Eilish Reveals Her Most Radical Fashion Instagram Yet

A Billie Eilish outfit is, by now, instantly recognizable: there’s the tomboyish silhouette, usually comprised of shorts that approximate culottes, and a baggy T-shirt that fits the 17-year-old pop sensation more like a dress. While Eilish tends to opt for bold graffiti prints and seemingly hand-crafted tie dye sets, she's also becoming more open to align her idiosyncratic style with historic fashion brands. The singer recently put her own punkish spin on acid green Chanel in New York’s Shelter Island; debuted Stella McCartney's Beatles-inspired capsule collection at Glastonbury festival; and, of course, is often spotted wearing a Louis Vuitton bucket hat like nobody else.

Now, Eilish is taking one of the fashion world’s most recognizable prints—the signature Burberry tartan—and making it summer festival appropriate. Eilish posted a snap on Instagram of herself at the annual Reading and Leeds music festival, which took place this past weekend across the two respective British towns, in a Burberry trench coat with a matching balaclava. When you think of late summer festival style, one of the last things that might spring to mind is a century-old heritage print. But for a fashion renegade like Eilish, it feels just right.
