Billie Eilish can make just about anything look cool — baggy clothes, bright green roots, you name it. Now, the "Bad Guy" singer-songwriter has jumped on the mullet bandwagon and is proving how rad the retro haircut can be.
The 17-year-old performer debuted her new look this week at the star-studded LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles, where she posed alongside icons like Naomi Campbell, John Legend, and more. While she kept her signature color the same — dark brown with electric green roots — it was clear that her cut had been spiced up a bit.
After the Gala, Eilish took to Instagram to show off her full look, which included a custom oversized Gucci ensemble and, of course, her new mullet-esque haircut. Sadly, she didn't address the cut (or who's responsible for it, for that matter), but in the photos, you can tell that the front and sides of her hair are now decidedly shorter than the back, which is more or less what constitutes a mullet.
Eilish isn't the only star who's helping put mullets back on the map. Euphoria’s Barbie Ferreira wore a mullet this past September at New York Fashion Week, and now it seems other celebs are following suit. For instance, Rita Ora is another one who's recently tried out the iconic '80s trend.
As for whether Eilish will keep the mullet around, we'll just have to wait and see, but it's certainly one of her coolest looks to date.
