We might not know who will take home the best original song Oscar until the show gets underway, but in my mind, Billie Eilish has already won the glam-of-the-night award.

Eilish, who's known and beloved for her alternative beauty looks and pioneering neon-tinted roots, two-toned hair, and choppy wolf cuts, did a total 180 for her Oscars hair and makeup. To the point that, while watching the 2024 Oscars red carpet, I had to rewind: I seriously did not recognize her.

Typically a more-is-more maximalist—she is, after all, best known for her bright green hair—Eilish instead opted for long layers, a sleek yet voluminous blowout, and deep brunette hair so long that it reached halfway down her back. I'm pretty sure this is the longest Eilish has worn her hair in years and at least since she's been famous. Does this mean a new era is loading?!

Eilish's makeup was similarly minimal yet superchic. The look, which consisted of natural brushed brows, classic mascara, and just a hint of overlined lips topped with gloss, is very much giving less is more and serves as a master class for how to rock subtle soft glam.

As for Eilish's ensemble? She's seemingly channeling a hint of Clueless's Cher Horowitz and schoolgirl chic, rocking a black-and-white skirt suit, black blazer, and houndstooth purse, complete with high white socks and black Mary Janes—all by Chanel.

While I firmly believe Eilish deserves an award for her gorgeous Oscars glam and outfit, she's obviously well deserving of other awards too. The singer and her brother Finneas O'Connell are up for best original song for “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie, and have actually already won a Golden Globe and Grammy for the ballad. NBD!

As usual, I can't wait to see what Billie Eilish does next.
