Too many red flags? Jesse Rutherford’s “POV” lyrics seem to point into Billie Eilish’s direction. Many fans believe that his latest song is about his relationship with the “What Was I Made For” singer.

The “bad guy” singer and the “Sweater Weather” musician were seen out on a date at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in October 2020. They were seen holding hands, per TMZ. Another source told Hollywood Life that the two have been friends for a while and respect each other.

During her annual Vanity Fair interview, she was asked once again if she was dating someone. She appeared really jubilant for the segment, “It’s really cool and I’m really excited and I’m really happy about it. I managed to get .. my life to a point where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f–king f–ker alive, but pulled his ass! Are you kidding me? Can we just [get a] round of applause for me?” After the crew clapped for her, she said, “Thank you, Jesse Rutherford, everyone. I pulled his ass. All me. I did that shit. I locked that motherf–ker down.”

After seven months of dating, the two broke up. On May 17, 2023, Billie’s rep told Page Six, “We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends.” Even days before Jesse released the song, Billie confirmed that the two are on very good terms.

What does “POV” by Jesse mean?

What does “POV” by Jesse mean? In his song, there are several references to his relationship with Billie Eilish.

In one part of the song he sings, “Feel like Alejandro when she Gaga on my goo” On Halloween weekend in 2022, Billie dressed up as a baby, while her boyfriend Jesse was dressed up as an old man. Billie made the relationship official on her Instagram when she posted her and Jesse’s costumes in a photo at the end of a carousel.

He sings in the second verse, “She been listening to me since 2013 / I know she’s got daddy issues, welcome to the family / She said, “Jesse, baby, won’t you write a song about me?” / I said, “I got a whole album, I could drop it next week” Billie was 11 in 2013 and the second line refers to The Neighbourhood’s song “Daddy Issues” but can also refer to a certain relationship dynamic.
