While Billie Eilish is presenting at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, she also picked up another moon man of her own. The "Happier Than Ever" singer was presented with the Video For Good award by one of her longtime idols, Avril Lavigne.

Her impactful song, "Your Power," was nominated for the award, which honors artists for their efforts to spread positive messages through their music. Naturally, Billie thanked her fans and used her acceptance speech to spread another powerful message.

"I just want to say that we need to protect our young women at all costs. For real," she said. "We also need to remember that we all have power, and we have to remember to not abuse it."

She seems to be reiterating the exact message from "Your Power," which explores the topic of someone who is abusing his power and holding it over a woman. When she released the song in April, she said "This is about many different situations that we’ve all either witnessed or experienced. I hope this can inspire change. Try not to abuse your power."

At the time of its release, fans speculated that the song is about her ex-boyfriend, Brandon Quention Adams a.k.a Q after seeing their relationship dynamic in her Apple TV+ documentary, Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry. Billie shut down that theory pretty quick in an interview with Rolling Stone.

"[The documentary] was a microscopic, tiny, tiny little bit of that relationship," she told the magazine, adding, "nobody knows about any of that, at all. I just wish people could just stop and see things and not have to say things all the time."

According to Genius, Billie actually wrote "Your Power" solo, which means the lyrics come from an incredibly honest and vulnerable place. Here's to Billie using her music and her platform for good — and winning awards while she's at it.
