Bill Murray once applied for a job at P.F. Chang's
Bill Murray is a man of many passions. We just didn’t know that lettuce wraps were one of them.
On Amy Schumer's podcast, “3 Girls, 1 Keith,” the legendary actor spoke about potential back-up jobs if acting gigs ever dried up.
After filming “Broken Flowers” in 2005, he recalled being convinced that he would never find any other role as satisfying. So he filled out an application to work at a P.F. Chang’s at the Atlanta Airport.
When asked what job he applied for, Murray responded: “Just to work there. It looks like they’re having the best time, working at P.F. Chang’s.”
The restaurant chain responded to Murray’s application story with a tweet, saying, “Bill, you're hired! When can you start?”
Murray also revealed on the podcast that he introduced RZA and GZA of Wu-Tang Clang to sake.
“They'd never had sake. So I proceeded to buy a big bottle. They drank a lot of sake and came back drunk," he said.
He also mentioned that he had a standing order with a liquor store owned by the "Trainwreck" actress' family in the 1970's where he'd but four bottles of champagne every week after taping “Saturday Night Live”.
While his stories may seem quirky, none should be surprising as Murray is known for making a splash in seemingly random places, airports included. Three years ago, he “adopted” the musicians Ruby Boots and Nikki Lane when they were on a Southwest flight from Chicago to Nashville together.
