Bill and Melinda Gates Publicly Reunite for Daughter's Graduation

Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates publicly reunited for their daughter Jennifer's graduation from the Columbia U. Mailman School of Public Health. The billionaires, who divorced in May 2021, were last were publicly together at Jennifer's wedding to Nayel Nasser in October 2021.

Jennifer posted a snap with her parents and husband on Instagram:

"Thank you @columbiapublichealth for this incredible educational opportunity and the village around me who made this possible," she wrote. "Grateful 🙏✨" Jennifer and Nayel recently welcomed a baby girl, making Bill and Melinda first-time grandparents.

Both Bill and Melinda posted to their own Instagrams pictures with Jennifer, excluding the other. Bill wrote, "Verified I’m so proud of you, Jenn. You have grown and learned so much over the years. I can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. Congratulations!"

Melinda wrote a much longer caption: "From the moment Jenn could talk, she loved to ask questions. Even when she was very young, she was especially interested in what I was learning through working in global health. And even then, she was particularly focused on children who were sick and what she could do to help them. So I’m very proud—and not at all surprised—that this curious and compassionate little girl is now a brilliant and compassionate woman with a new master’s degree in public health. Jenn, congratulations! You have a heart and a mind that will change the world. I can’t wait to see what you do!❤️"

Last year, Bill said he would " marry Melinda all over again," whereas Melinda said they are "friendly" but not friends, telling Gayle King, "I certainly wish him well. I don’t wish him harm. I think we have a productive working relationship, and I think that will continue."
