The Bikes Of Burning Man "Changed" This Popular YouTuber's Life

Burning Man was a month ago and many people went and had a very memorable time.

This year’s burn was memorable for shall we say mixed reasons. Watch mountain bike YouTuber Matt Dennison’s Burning Man recap here.

Burning Man is an art festival in the Nevada desert where the attendees build a large temporary city and then leave no trace.

The city is so big that festival goers choose to ride around on bikes. As often happens, Matt’s knowledge of bikes made him the bike maintenance guru.

One controversy of Burning Man this year was whether e-bikes are allowed. There was worry about people taking them too fast on the Playa. In a statement to Bikemag, Dennison said "I didn’t personally encounter any outrageously unsafe e-bike riding. I did hear a few people call out the inevitable “slow down!”

Though freerider Paul Basagoita and Matt talked about meeting, they were unable to.

These funny bikes work great in the flat lake bed… until it rains. This year’s burn saw a lot of it. The water turned the ground to peanut butter, making riding nigh on impossible. For Matt, the end of Burning Man turned into a waiting game. Unfortunately, he did not escape like Chris Rock did.

However, Matt’s burning man did not end terribly. At the end of the video, he got engaged underneath a double rainbow! Even if Burning Man did not end in the way he imagined, he still got to cap it off with something special.
