Bike Month: Riding with Mayor Skip Henderson through Dragonfly Trail

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Our mayor led a group of bikers through Dragonfly Trail in commemoration of National Bike Month.

Community members, leaders and law enforcement all gathered at the Midcity Yards to kick off the four mile trek. This event was first of several planned for May in honor of national bike month.

Mayor Skip Henderson had this to say.

“It encourages people to be aware of other cyclists on the road, so that they’re sharing the road with something other than a vehicle,” said Henderson. “Of course, we want to understand we’re continuing to add infrastructure, looking for connectivity.”

The next event will be a bike ride to work or school on Friday starting at 7 a.m. at Iron Bank Coffee.
