The Biggest Spring 2024 Trends to Know From London Fashion Week

When you talk to people in the industry about London Fashion Week, they'll usually gush about the energy and excitement in the lineup. Out of all four fashion capitals, London's presentations tend to be filled with emerging talent, and consistently deliver some of the most exciting, boundary-pushing ideas when it comes to how people dress. As a result, the trends tend to be forward-thinking and challenging — they might not click six months from now, but just give it time: British designers have a knack for knowing where fashion's moving, so you may as well hop on now and enjoy the ride.

Baby Blues

As far as London Fashion Week color stories go, the Spring 2024 palette is much more muted than we might expect to see for the season. While it leans into pastels (a staple), they don't feel quite as sweet as what we're used to — these shades are almost dustier, like pulled from an archive. That's why the blue we see at Eudon Choi, Sinéad O'Dwyer, Yuhan Wang and more feels less "baby shower," more vintage revival.

Bra tops are a dime a dozen as soon as temperatures start rising again in the spring. In London, designers embraced the now-staple, in a way that was a little more buttoned-up, styling them underneath blazers and tailored jackets on the runways.

British brands' approach to cutouts for Spring 2024 is focused on the waistline, with Supriya Lele, Chet Lo, Di Petsa and more splicing up the fabric at the hip or belt loop to show a little skin, in some cases creating a "whale tail" look.
