The Biggest Moments From the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards

The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards aired tonight, with Tiffany Haddish as the perfect host—why doesn't she host all the awards shows?—and so many deserving films and TV shows taking home honors. (Madelaine Petsch rightfully won the Scene-Stealer Award for Riverdale, finally giving Cheryl Blossom the credit she deserves!)

Here are the highlights from the evening. Let this show serve as a reminder for everyone to see Black Panther as soon as possible.

Best

When host Tiffany Haddish emerged as the true champion in the opening Black Panther skit. Her Girls Trip co-stars also made an appearance. It was iconic. Haddish literally said, "I'm Tiffany Haddish, and I know who bit Beyoncé." That needs to go on all of Haddish's social media bios.

Haddish's take on Cardi B's hit song "Bodak Yellow." She laid her own, hilarious lyrics on top of the rap smash. The bit about Michael B. Jordan was 10/10.

Haddish's joke about Seth Rogen. "I like you, Seth. You're my favorite bearded white man since Abraham Lincoln." 😂😂😂

Also, her joke about Chris Pratt. "I have a galaxy you can garden." I'm officially done.

When Madelaine Petsch won for Best Scene Stealer. Her acceptance speech was short. All she did was thank the Riverdale fans. I lived for each second of it.

The fact that Haddish wore her iconic Alexander Wang gown during the show. Queen of being practical with her couture pieces.

Chadwick Boseman applauding the fans when he won the award for Best Hero. "Receiving an award for playing a superhero is amazing, but it's even better to acknowledge the heroes we have in real word," Boseman said before recognizing James Shaw Jr., who disarmed a gunman in Tennessee who opened fire in a Waffle House, saving several lives in the process. Boseman then brought Shaw up on stage and gave his Golden Popcorn to him.

Haddish's Star Wars parody I now ship her and Kylo Ren hardcore.

Haddish's quip about 13 Reasons Why. "I started watching this show because I thought it was the sequel to 12 Years a Slave. It's not."

When Love, Simon won for Best Kiss. This win felt particularly poignant because it's Pride Month! "I just want to say to every kid: You can live your dreams and wear dresses, you can live your dreams and kiss the one that you love no matter what gender they are. You can live your dreams and you can believe in magic, you can live your dreams and you can be yourself," Keiynan Lonsdale, Nick Robinson's love interest in Love, Simon, said during his speech.

Michael B. Jordan's "shock" that he won Best Villain. "I thought for sure Roseanne had that in the bag," he said. The sickest burn.

Lena Waithe taking home the Trailblazer Award. She dedicated her speech to the historical queer figures in the 19991 documentary Paris Is Burning, which highlights ball culture in the 1980s. Waithe, if you don't know,is the first African American woman to be nominated in the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series category at the Emmys. She was recognized for her work on Netflix's Master of None.

The It kids thanking their moms during their acceptance speech for Best On-Screen Team. Awww.

Tiffany Haddish wearing a mock version of Meghan Markle's wedding dress. Where is Prince Harry?!

Chris Pratt's equal-parts funny and inspiring speech for the Generation Award. He intermixed life tips like, "It doesn't matter what it is: Earn it," with tips about giving dogs medicine.

Lady Gaga making a surprise appearance to present Best Movie. Be still, my gay heart!

Annnnnd Black Panther winning Best Movie. “It’s incredible when the stereotype used to be people of color couldn’t bring y’all out to the theater," Michael B. Jordan said about Black Panther's success during his acceptance speech. Congrats!
