The 2024 Golden Globes nominations arrived this morning, and although we’re excited for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, there were quite a few big-name TV shows, movies and stars that were left off the list (ahem, no Best Picture nom for The Color Purple?!). Here, a complete list of the biggest Golden Globes snubs of 2024.

1. Saltburn

Barry Keoghan and Rosamund Pike are recognized in the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress categories, but the film itself was snubbed from the Best Picture category. Not to mention, Emerald Fennell was also excluded from Best Director.

2. Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey had two nomination-worthy roles in The Little Mermaid and The Color Purple. Despite her groundbreaking performances, she wasn’t recognized as a Golden Globe nominee. Womp, womp.

3. The Morning Show Cast

The Morning Show is nominated for Best TV Series (Drama), but the same can’t be said about the show’s stars, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who aren’t included.

4. Jonathan Bailey

Jonathan Bailey’s new show, Fellow Travelers, has been making headlines as of late. But unlike his co-star, Matt Bomer, the Bridgerton star didn’t make the Golden Globes cut.

5. The Color Purple

While Fantasia Barrino is nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), the movie itself was excluded from the Best Picture category. The actual nominees include Air, American Fiction, Barbie, The Holdovers, May December and Poor Things.

6. Harrison Ford

Many expected Harrison Ford to receive a nomination for his stellar performances in the Yellowstone spin-off, 1923, or the Jason Segal show, Shrinking…but that wasn’t the case.

7. Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret

After all the excitement surrounding the film adaptation, the HFPA overlooked it when it came to nomination time. The movie was based on Judy Blume’s best-selling book, and it earned around $21.5 million at the box-office.

8. Idris Elba

Idris Elba starred as Sam Nelson in Apple TV+’s drama series, Hijack. Unfortunately, the show didn’t receive a single nomination.

9. Sheryl Lee Ralph & Janelle James

Abbott Elementary was nominated for Best TV Series (Musical or Comedy), and Quinta Brunson was recognized in the Best Actress (Musical or Comedy) category. However, the rest of the cast—including Sheryl Lee Ralph and Janelle James—were snubbed from the 2024 ceremony.

10. America Ferrera

Barbie received several nominations, including Best Picture (Comedy or Musical), Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Original Song and Cinematic & Box Office Achievement. Many expected America Ferrera to join the ranks (two words: that speech), but sadly, she wasn’t included.

So, who will actually win when the Golden Globes air on January 7? We’ll have to wait and see.
