Bigfoot Spotted in a New York City Park?

PROSPECT PARK (PIX11) -- Video uploaded to YouTube alleges to show Bigfoot -- yes, the mythical ape -- jaunting through Prospect Park.

Uploaded Jan. 27, Russell Strark claims the "unbelievable" time lapse video was recorded Tuesday following Monday's snow storm, when NYC's parks were closed to the public by order of Mayor de Blasio (clearly, Bigfoot thumbs his/her nose at authority).

"I have seen a lot of creatures in Prospect Park, but not that one," said one cyclist when I showed him the video from YouTube.

A jogger said it just looked like a man dressed up to look like a monster. Still another said it looked like a very big raccoon.

Gothamist even called in a leading paranormal expert to shed some light on whether this video could have been fabricated. The expert is quoted as saying, "If it's too good to be true it's probably too good to be true."

"I recently started a live streaming / time lapse channel called Brooklyn Live Video to capture different parts of Brooklyn. I had set up a camera in Prospect Park on a side trail to capture the snow fall, today I went back and collected it and found this footage," Strark wrote. "It appears to me to be Bigfoot.... Seriously. Looks like it was taken at around 7 am this morning."

The video's comment section is filled with people calling out Strark's video as a hoax.

"Take a look and tell me your thoughts. I am no expert, but this is pretty compelling stuff. I am baffled how this creature could be in Brooklyns [sic] Prospect Park."

Perhaps the Brooklyn sighting of Bigfoot is just an attempt to grab the spotlight after reports of a yeti prowling the streets of a snowy Boston suburb -- but this mythical Himalayan ape, also known as an abominable snowman, had taken to Twitter, posting pictures of himself trying to hail a cab and claiming credit for school closing.

Bigfoot could not be reached for comment.
