Big Wave Surfer Shane Dorian Posts Stem Cell Update and Mental Backdoor Barrel

Surf legend Shane Dorian spent years on the championship tour and earned a rep as one of the world's most respected big-wave surfers.

Nowadays, he's head coach of the Hawaii Surf Team, hunts, and is still charging hard.

In October, he went to Mexico for stem cell treatment and has been sharing updates since, like his latest one below.

Yesterday, Dorian posted the video above, writing:

"3 month stem cell update. Sorry it took so long, selfie videos are extra painful for me but here you go.

"Body is feeling great, so grateful to be back in the water and training again. Will do another update in about a month as I go @cpistemcells @scottyotm"

In the clip, Dorian explains that he's on the North Shore and surfing every day.

While detailing his recovery, he eventually says, "My strength is how it was when I was 20."

Dorian replied: "@thomasvictorcarroll I can definitely take it don’t you worry ha ha. Yeah man stoked to have the body feeling a bit better and just trying to stay patient and stick to my program. If I can surf a bit more I’ll be totally stoked."

Seth Moniz: "I see you running the beach every day. Looking jacked"

Mark Healey: "Yeah buddy!"

Damien Hobgood: "All I know is the tan is on point."
