With a little over a month to go until Big Sky returns for its highly-anticipated third season, ABC is hoping a new teaser trailer will hold fans over.

The series—subtitled Big Sky: Deadly Trails—is getting a little bit of a shake-up as it introduces a handful of new (and eerie) characters, along with a brand-new mystery-awaiting private detective Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and deputy Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick).

Fans also get a first look at new series regular and country legend Reba McEntire, who plays Sunny Barnes, described as a "successful backcountry outfitter with a secret history of missing customers.”

McEntire’s Sunny narrates the teaser, which seems to lead the dynamic duo of Hoyt and Dewell, as well as newcomer and freshly appointed sheriff Beau (Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles), into a world of danger as they tackle their craziest case (and they’ve already pursued Brian Geraghty’s unhinged Ronald Pergman for two seasons) to keep the scenic town of Helena safe and sound!

“In the untamed wilderness, you never know what’s going to be coming around the bend,” Sunny says as she welcomes a group of campers and hikers to “friendly” Montana.

But there’s danger lurking everywhere, and her welcoming message quickly takes a deadly turn as she warns: “One thing’s for certain, once you set foot in this place, you may never want to go home again… and you might not.”

Helena will see plenty of new faces this season with Blindspot actor Luke Mitchell as Sunny’s son Cormac, Lost star Henry Ian Cusack as a tech exec named Avery, 9-1-1’s Anirudh Pisharody and Doom Patrol’s Madalyn Horcher as a young couple from New York looking for a wilderness escape, and Fringe star Seth Gabel as Walter, a recluse living in the Montana woods.

The crime drama, which introduces a new core mystery every season while weaving in previous storylines throughout, has also upped Jamie-Lynn Sigler and J. Anthony Pena—who play waitress-turned-crime-syndicate-wingwoman Tonya and Hoyt’s right-hand man deputy Poppernak, respectively.

Big Sky: Deadly Trails will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 21 on ABC.
