Big Hart Campground in McDuffie Co. holding kickoff to camping season

McDUFFIE COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – McDuffie County’s campground, Big Hart, located along the shores of Strom Thurmond Lake, is holding their camping season kickoff this weekend.

The event takes place Saturday, April 6, with activities throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Admission is $5 per car and $2 per person for the all day event.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be fishing with loaner poles while supplies last (those 16 and older must have a valid Georgia Fishing License).

And then from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., you can enjoy marshmallows at the fire pit. Make sure to bring a sturdy chair.

Throughout the day, there will be food trucks and a pop-up from the McDuffie County Animal Shelter offering on-site adoptions and free microchipping from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
