6 cups cold water
5 regular-size mint black tea bags (such as Bigelow Plantation Mint)
5 regular-size black tea bags
2 cups (16 oz.) bourbon
3/4 cup Simple Syrup
8 long-stemmed mint sprigs
Combine water and tea bags in a large microwave-safe glass container. Microwave on HIGH 4 minutes. Remove from microwave, and steep, without stirring, 1 hour. Remove tea bags, letting excess liquid drain into tea. (Do not squeeze.) Discard tea bags.
Stir together tea, bourbon, and Simple Syrup in a large pitcher. Pour into tall glasses filled with ice. Gently slap each mint sprig against wrist to release mint oils and fragrance. Place 1 sprig in each glass. Serve immediately.
