Bid on Incredible Design Experiences to Benefit the Black Artists + Designers Guild

From House Beautiful

Calling all design lovers: Have you ever wanted a personal tour of the factory where Tillett Textiles handprints some of history's most iconic patterns? How about a consultation with Paloma Contreras or Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller of Carrier & Company? Or a bolt of fabric that once belonged to style icon Bunny Mellon? Well, now's your chance to nab these—and may more—offerings in Hearst's latest Design Unites auction on CharityBuzz, benefitting the Black Artists + Designers Guild.

Following a successful first round of lots with proceeds (of over $10,000!) going to Habitat for Humanity's COVID-19 response program, House Beautiful, Town & Country, Elle Decor, and Veranda have rolled out another round of lots to raise money for the BAD Guild, which House Beautiful Visionary Malene Barnett founded in 2018 to act as a resource for connecting, championing, and spotlighting Black creatives.

For the new lots, many of House Beautiful's favorite designers and design brands have stepped up to donate one-of-a-kind experiences and items: Paloma Contreras, designer, blogger, and podcast host, will offer a social media consult and a signed copy of her book; Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller will give a virtual design consultation as well as a chair of their design and a signed copy of their book; and antiques dealer David Duncan is offering a roll of vintage fabric that once belonged to Bunny Mellon. And if you love the fabric, you can also bid on a private tour of Tillett Textiles where it was made! If it's home accessories you're after, there are plenty of those, too, including rugs, glassware, plates, and decorative trays.

Supporting Black designers while also nabbing treasures of design history? Talk about a win-win.
