Beyoncé blessed Instagram with not one but two new outfit posts over the weekend. On April 16, Bey shared three grid posts full of photos of her wearing a low-cut white suit with Beyoncé necklaces adorned on it.
And early today, she shared a second bold look: the green print bodycon mini dress she wore with matching gloves for dinner with Jay-Z. She devoted two captionless grid posts to it:
Beyoncé doesn't often share looks at her life on social media, but when she does, she loves a good photo dump—hence all the grid posts with carousels of photos.
Generally, though, Beyoncé is able to live privately. She is rarely photographed by paparazzi or written about in the press unless she wants to be. This is deliberate, Bey has made clear in the past. In her January 2020 interview for ELLE, Beyoncé answered a reader question about when she felt confident enough to own her narrative as an artist—and how having control over her image is so important to her as an artist.
Beyoncé said, “The more I mature, the more I understand my value. I realized I had to take control of my work and my legacy because I wanted to be able to speak directly to my fans in an honest way. I wanted my words and my art to come directly from me. There were things in my career that I did because I didn’t understand that I could say no. We all have more power than we realize.”
