In case you needed more proof it’s Beyoncé’s world and we’re just living in it, look no further than her surprise announcement of new music, which she made during a Super Bowl commercial on Sunday night.

The legendary singer delighted fans by making a cameo in a Verizon ad that aired during the football championship. The spot shows Beyoncé—a perpetual breaker of the internet—attempting to break Verizon’s 5G cellular network. She opens a lemonade stand, plays the saxophone, flies to space, and runs for the very important political office of “Beyoncé of the United States,” among other things—all to no avail. Verizon’s network remains undisturbed. Finally, she orders: “Okay, they ready. Drop the new music!”

Chaos broke loose shortly after. On Instagram, the superstar shared a snippet of the long-awaited Renaissance Act II —which hinted at a country album, judging from the Wild West aesthetics and Texas touches. (The first two confirmed tracks are titled “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.”) She also shared the first visuals for the new album: portraits of herself putting a glamorous spin on country-western fashion.

Everything Beyoncé touches turns to gleeful pandemonium, as evidenced by tweeters’ feral reaction to the news. We rounded up the 13 best reactions below.

When it comes to unexpectedly announcing new music, this is not Beyoncé’s first rodeo. Indeed she teased the arrival of Renaissance in an interview for Harper’s Bazaar’s September 2021 cover story.

“I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible,” she said at the time. “I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half. Sometimes it takes a year for me to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare. One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies. Still, there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio. After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old. Yes, the music is coming!”
