Beyoncé Just Wore an Epically Long Ponytail Braid

When Beyoncé braids her hair, you know you're in for some serious slayage. That's just how it is, we don't make the rules. The singer, who typically favors loose waves or curls, has given us a few epic braid styles this year, most notably those swirly, finger wave-esque plaits she wore for The Lion King premiere. On Saturday, Bey gave us yet another braided moment for the books, making a surprise appearance at a gala (with her husband Mr Beyoncé, a.k.a. Jay Z) for the opening of Tyler Perry Studios. This time, she wore a mile-long, floor-sweeping braid.

Now, Beyoncé's done her fair share of super long hair looks, but this one goes all the way down to her ankles. Bonus? The end of the braid looks like a tassel. It's so long, it can't even fit in a photo frame:

To anchor the braid, hairstylist Neal Farinah slicked back Bey's hair tightly into a middle part, which gave her hairstyle and her custom Yousef Al Jasmi yellow beaded gown room to shine.

Bey posted several photos from the event on Instagram along with a sweet message to Perry. "Happy Sunday. Congratulations to Tyler Perry on the opening of his studios. I could feel our ancestors’ presence. Surrounded by my heroes, I watched Denzel, Queen Oprah, Spike, Whoopi, Sir Poitier, Will, Halle, Dame Cicely and our angels John Singleton and Diahann Carroll honored," she wrote. "The Armand de Brignac crashed against each soundstage as fireworks lit up the sky. Generations of blood, sweat and tears, success, excellence and brilliance. It makes me so proud, so full, I could not stop crying. Thank you my Virgo brother for so much love and passion put into every detail. My prayer today is that you will take it all in. You inspire me to dream even bigger."

Just one question: How did she not trip on that hella-long braid? Beyoncé is a wizard.
