Beyhive, are you all sitting down? It's barely been two months since Homecoming casually rolled in to blow our collective minds, but Bey just did it again by giving her first on-camera interview in years.

Even more excitingly, this interview is also the first time Bey discussed her role in Disney's upcoming live-action remake of The Lion King, in which she voices Nala. During an OWN special chronicling the 2019 Wearable Art Gala, which took place in Los Angeles earlier this month, Beyoncé opened up about why the event is special to her.

"It's exciting because it's one of the only red carpets that I do with my family," she said. "My daughter gets to dress up and my husband, and this year it’s Lion King which, obviously I play Nala. So it’s the first time I’m doing any appearance as a person that stars in The Lion King, which is something that I grew up watching."

She went on to express her excitement about sharing the film with her children, Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir, and with her mother Tina Knowles. "I’m so excited for my kids to see it, but it means even more to share this experience and this culture of The Lion King with my mother and my family," she enthused. The event is run by the WACO (Where Art Can Occur) Theater Center, which was founded by Tina Knowles and her husband Richard Lawson to provide a space for artists to explore their talents.

The theme of this year's Wearable Art Gala was “A Journey to The Pride Lands”, so it's no surprise that Bey went all out for the occasion, walking the carpet with her husband Jay Z and Blue Ivy in a stunning ensemble that basically amounts to world's most couture Nala costume.

Just in case you weren't already jealous that you didn't get an invite to this blessed event, the gala was hosted by Queen Tiffany Haddish. But it's not all bad news! You can get an inside look at the event in the OWN special that aired Tuesday night–or, you know, just watch the 20-second clip of Bey over and over again. Either way, no judgement.
