- John Oliver confirmed that Beyoncé was photoshopped into The Lion King cast’s photo.
- Beyoncé was represented by a piece of tape while the rest of the cast shot the pic.
In case you missed it, Beyoncé, blessed be her name, took time out of her busy schedule to play Nala in The Lion King. Oh, and she went ahead and produced the movie’s entire soundtrack. But Queen Bey is a busy person, and things she doesn’t have time for? Posing with the cast for promotional pics, that’s what.
In fact, Beyoncé was so busy that Disney had to photoshop her into the promotional pics for the movie, which, lololololol. Here’s the photo in question, with Beyoncé right smack in the middle of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, Alfre Woodard, Eric André, Florence Kasumba, Keegan-Michael Key, JD McCrary, and Shahadi Wright Joseph:
And John Oliver just went ahead and confirmed that nope, she was not actually there.
“Chiwetel was sitting in the front and he said, ‘You need to be careful where your foot is,’” he told Stephen Colbert. “I looked down and there was just this piece of tape on the floor with Beyoncé’s name written on it!”
“It was like an electrical reaction. Just the future presence of Beyoncé was so intimidating,” he continued. “If you look at my face in there, I look really intimidated and that’s because what I’m doing is imagining that I am about to be put into a photo with Beyoncé one day, and that was nerve-wracking enough!”
It's classic Bey.
