Beyoncé’s Daughter Rumi Made a Rare Appearance in Black Is King

Beyoncé's Black Is King started streaming at midnight (Pacific time) on July 31, and it's already having a, well, Beyoncé-size impact on the world and the internet

The visual album is another stunning tour de force from Bey and is obviously a deeply personal project. “Black Is King is a labor of love. It is my passion project that I have been filming, researching, and editing day and night for the past year. I’ve given it my all and now it’s yours,” she said on Instagram. “This experience has been an affirmation of a grander purpose. My only goal is that you watch it with your family and that it gives you pride.”

The entire Knowles-Carter family appears in the film in some way: Jay-Z, Bey's mom (Tina), and her three children. Blue Ivy is basically a music video veteran at this point and even sings on the “Brown Skin Girl” track, a gorgeous and emotional section of the movie. But fans were excited to catch a glimpse of Bey and Jay's other daughter, Rumi, in Black Is King as well.

In one moment, she can been seen in Beyoncé's arms and she is, of course, adorable.

The entire film is actually dedicated to Rumi's twin brother, Sir Carter—so he technically makes an appearance too. “Dedicated to my son, Sir Carter,” a part of the film reads. “And to all our sons and daughters, the sun and the moon bow for you. You are the keys to the kingdom.”

And all three children appear in a painting.

Given that the film tells the story of a Black boy, it's not surprising Beyoncé dedicated it to Sir—but obviously the internet is going to make some jokes about how she left out Blue and Rumi.

“Rumi already acting as if she the middle child. Not a lot of attention on her, just there she'll come out in the next project hopefully #BlackIsKing,” one person tweeted.

Black Is King is now streaming on Disney+
