With the release of COWBOY CARTER, Beyoncé has zero plans to slow down her country-inspired looks — and her latest awards show appearance is no exception.

Bey attended the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 1 to accept the night's Innovator Award for her contributions to music. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer stepped out in an archival ensemble pulled straight from Gianni Versace’s Western-inspired fall 1992 collection. The outfit consisted of a leather jacket and matching pants adorned with gold embellishment details, which she accessorized with two chunky belts (also with gold details), black sunglasses, and a black Versace cowboy hat with the brand's logo emblazoned in gold.

Accepting her award from Stevie Wonder, the pop star paid homage to the legends that have paved the way for her and referenced the obstacles she's faced throughout her career. “Innovation starts with a dream, and the road to execute that dream can be very bumpy. Being an innovator is doing what everyone believes is impossible,” she told those in attendance. “Being an innovator often means being criticized, which often will test your mental strength. Being an innovator is leaning on faith and trusting that God will catch you and guide you.”

She continued, “To all the record labels, every radio station, every award show, my hope is that we’re more open to the joy and liberation that comes from enjoying art with no preconceived notions. I want to dedicate this award to all the innovators who have dedicated their lives and their art to creating shifts. Thank you for your sacrifice and your powerful forces and your dauntless spirit.” She also took time in her speech to thank greats like Tracy Chapman, Prince, Andre 3000, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, and Wonder for “executing your dream so we can all follow.”

Backstage, Bey posed with Cher, who also went the bejeweled route for her ensemble. The "Believe" wore an all-black top bedazzled with silver rhinestones and matched the top with vintage black Chrome Hearts pants.

“I’ve had these pants for 40 years,” she said during her Icon Award speech, fittingly presented to her by Meryl Streep. “I thought we should come here and accept this award together.”
