The words “mobile home” aren’t typically synonymous with beach house dreams, but in the tucked-away community of Malibu’s Paradise Cove, things are a little different.
Here on the bluffs above the Pacific is what could be called a trailer park to the stars. A-listers from Matthew McConaughey to Minnie Driver have called the park home, drawn to the solitude (Paradise Cove is a gated community) and proximity to pristine California beaches.
The latest mobile home to hit the market is fashion designer Betsey Johnson’s bubble gum-pink trailer, listed for $1.95 million.
The price tag is in line with typical sales within the exclusive community, and Johnson’s coastal crash pad might just be one of the cutest in the park.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom trailer is decked out in Johnson’s exuberant style, with bright rooms, crystal chandeliers, and bohemian touches.
The open kitchen features a farmhouse sink, butcher block counters, stainless appliances, floating shelving, and skylights.
The bedrooms are the most colorful spaces inside: the yellow master suite is spacious and has access to the sprawling deck.
Both bathrooms feature walk-in showers, subway tile, and loads of natural light.
Hardwoods, white walls, and ample access to the outdoors set the scene in the main living areas.
On one end of the the wrap-around deck, wooden lattice ceiling and walls create an outdoor living room. The lush yard and multitude of seating areas gives the home a secret garden feel.
Homes in Paradise Cove come with access to 24-hour guard-gated entry, a community tennis court and clubhouse, and access to one of the world's most celebrated beaches.
