Bethenny Frankel, 51, Slams Troll Commenting on Her Changing Looks: ‘Are We Not All Aging?’

Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel is calling out trolls who say she doesn’t look “how I used to.”
“Wait…am I doing it wrong? Are we not all aging?” she wrote on Twitter.
The 51-year-old often discusses aging on social media and frequently shares makeup-free selfies in an effort to normalize aging naturally.
Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel is 51 and she’s not afraid to look it—even if trolls tell her she shouldn’t.
As a public figure, Frankel gets comments about her appearance often. The busy entrepreneur and TV star doesn’t always have time to address them, but on Sunday, she gave a wakeup call to haters who like to call out her aging looks.
“My favorite is people telling me that I’ve aged & that I don’t look how I used to… Ummm yeah, wait…am i doing it wrong? Are we not all aging?” she tweeted. “Even if I filter myself & get plastic surgery I assume I’m still getting older, not younger right. Or am I bad at math & science? 🤔”
Frankel’s right—no matter what she looks like, she and her body will inevitably age, like the rest of us. That’s just life. Thankfully, her more encouraging fans had her back. “You got it right @Bethenny and you look beautiful, so keep pushing ahead,” one person replied. “I know. When did we become afraid of aging?” another added.
“You look great…don’t give the haters any energy and keep smiling,” someone else wrote.
Every so often, in an effort to keep it real with her followers, Frankel shares a makeup-free, filter-free selfie on Instagram. She shared the latest on February 1. “I figured it was time for a zero makeup, straight out of the shower, selfie for all of you non plastic surgery non filterers… you are naturally beautiful….,” she captioned the post. “It’s important that an honest portrayal of women is communicated because the younger generation has a distorted perception of reality, beauty, and expectations….”
In full disclosure, Frankel told People in April 2021 that “filler is scary” but she has had a breast lift and Botox in her jaw to help her avoid grinding her teeth. “I don’t use it as often as I should,” she said. “I should set a calendar to look in the mirror. If I look like a Shar-Pei that's when I know I need it next.”
At the time, she was 50 and totally embracing it. “I don’t really care about being 50,” she quipped. “I don’t understand lying about your age because then you look worse for your actual age.”
In December, she shared another makeup-less selfie, wrinkling her forehead to prove she had no Botox there. “I haven’t seen any surgery or products that can compete with a good night’s sleep,” she wrote. “There may come a day that I’ll ask you if it’s time to get some work done, but for today I’m happy just the way I am.”
