Even though nice sneakers and boots can be worn just about anywhere, there are still occasions that call for a proper pair of dress shoes. From formal weddings to interviews to events where the dress code is too vague to make sense of, the right pair will never lead you astray.

Since the late 1800s, Florsheim has been a reliable stop for affordable, well-made dress shoes that are designed with comfort in mind. The brand’s bestselling Midtown Plain Toe Oxford is simple enough to work with chinos and sharp enough to complement dress pants, and it’s currently on sale at Zappos for just under $90—28% off the normal $125 price. It's available in sizes 7 through 15 and comes in medium, wide, and extra wide widths.

Though Florsheim calls these shoes Oxfords, they’re technically derbies. Made with leather sourced from tanneries with a gold or silver rating from the Leather Working Group, these derby dress shoes have quarter panels stitched to the top of the shoe, creating an open lacing system. It may seem like information only a cobbler would need to know, but the reason it’s important is that, unlike an Oxford, a derby can also be worn casually if desired.

These shoes will also be more comfortable than a traditional Oxford. While the open lacing system provides comfort on top, the rubber sole of this shoe is more comfortable and stable, and easier to walk on than a traditional leather sole. Plus, the addition of a cushioned, removable OrthoLite footbed keeps feet feeling fresh after a long day spent standing or running around at work

Shoppers were impressed with the comfort these shoes offered, with one calling them an “excellent all-day shoe,” adding that they have “better arch support than most dress shoes.” Another said that the shoe “feels like a sneaker” and added that they are “never going back” to “expensive traditional wingtips.” Another commended both the aesthetic and comfort, noting, “These look sharp and I can walk in them all day long without fatigue.”

Finding a wide dress shoe that's comfortable and nice-looking is like chasing a unicorn, but shoppers say this might be the best one yet. "I have very wide feet and my old brand choice, which was three times more expensive and a brand I wore for 20 years, was just too tight, even in their 3E," a shopper said. "When I ordered these, I didn’t know what to expect. I absolutely love them. Very comfortable, wide enough, and with great support. Also, they look good (which is not always the case with wide shoes)."

Florsheim’s Midtown Oxford is available in black or brown, which can suit a variety of outfits. Whether you're missing the perfect dress shoes in your closet or your last pair just isn't cutting it, consider picking up these comfortable, classic derbies from Florsheim at a substantial discount.
