This Is the Best Wendy’s Menu Hack, According to Its Culinary Team

Our minds were blown.

When it comes to the Wendy’s menu, it’s almost impossible to pick a favorite item. Whether it be the classic Baconator and fries or the iconic chili and salads, no matter what you order, you’re in for a delicious meal. But, we think we can all agree, there’s one Wendy’s item that you can never leave the restaurant without: a Frosty.

When Dave Thomas created the Frosty, he created something truly magical. The semi-milkshake, semi-soft serve dessert is the perfect compliment to any order—and we don’t have to remind you how tasty it is paired with Wendy’s fries.

So, just when we thought the already fabulous Frosty couldn’t get any better, we learned some news from Wendy’s culinary team that blew our minds. No, it’s not about a new flavor joining menus, but rather something you can do with the already existing (and delicious) flavors.

Wendy's Half & Half Frosty Hack

For fans of the iconic chocolate and vanilla twist cone, you could get at your local ice cream shop, Wendy’s Global VP of Culinary Innovation, John Li, has the ultimate Frosty hack for you.

You can mix the two Frosty flavors. No, seriously, you can order your Frosty with both of the flavors.

“At Wendy’s, we take pride in our menu items being made for YOU. You can simply request a mix of both available Frosty flavors to create an entirely new flavor profile—just ask for half and half next time you order,” says Li.

That means you can get a half Vanilla, half Chocolate Frosty most days—but it also applies to the seasonal flavors. Fans have loved the half Chocolate, half Strawberry Frosty and half Chocolate, half Peppermint Frosty in the past. And, we suppose if you want to try a half Pumpkin Spice, half Chocolate Frosty, that’s an option, too.

“The culinary team and I spend months on research and testing as part of our Frosty innovations, and at the end of the day, it’s all about our fans’ cravings and delivering on the flavors that they just can’t get enough of. If you’re someone who can't decide between the flavors, you don’t have to,” says Li.

While the Vanilla Frosty is officially back on menus for the moment, there’s no telling what new flavors could be coming soon. However, now that we know this hack, we hope we’ll see the Strawberry and Peppermint Frostys again because we can’t believe we’ve never had the Chocolate-Strawberry and Chocolate-Peppermint dessert before. But we’ll be dreaming about them until they (hopefully) hit menus again.
