Fashion's biggest night might just be Twitter's, too.

The Met Gala has arrived once again and all the celebrities are dressing according to theme. This year, the dress code calls for "Gilded Glamour," a continuation of the Costume Institute's premier exhibition, dubbed "In America," which began last year with "A Lexicon of Fashion." The second part of the exhibition, titled "An Anthology of Fashion," will center "sartorial narratives that relate to the complex and layered histories" of the nation's formative eras, according to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

As per usual, the glitzy high-fashion event invites admiration as much as it does commentary from the Twitter masses. From the eyebrow-raising theme to some dazzling outfit reveals, find the funniest tweets about the best (and worst) looks of the night ahead.

Twitter users kept the commentary rolling on the night's theme, "Gilded Age."

Ashley Tisdale offered up some of her old red carpet looks for Met Gala style inspo—to her fans' delight.

People were mesmerized by Blake Lively's incredible dress reveal.

The men's outfits got some scrutiny.

Fans duly noted a rare SZA appearance.

Shawn Mendes's outfit got some comparisons.

There were mixed reactions to Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe's iconic "Happy birthday, Mr. President" dress.

An entertainment reporter received a lot of love for her Cinderella-esque work uniform.

Of course, it isn't truly fashion's biggest night until Twitter says Jason Derulo has fallen down the steps of the Met Gala.
