Best Thing I Ate This Week: Champagne celebrations for NYE at this NuLu wine bar
As New Year's Eve nears, you might be craving celebratory sips. Nouvelle Bar & Bottle, 214 S. Clay St., has something sparkly for that.
Earlier this year, the wine bar and shop in NuLu launched a "Completely Irresponsible Champagne List," featuring dozens of options.
"It's irresponsible to have 65 different Champagnes on a list anywhere, I think," owner John Grisanti told the Courier Journal of the list. "For us, it's a passion thing. I think Champagne is the greatest beverage in the world."

The art-filled space has a capacity of about 50 people and an outdoor patio. You'll find cozy seating, bright blue walls, a beautiful bar at the center, and a wall showcasing bottles of wine.
We featured Nouvelle Bar & Bottle in the Best Thing I Ate This Week, our weekly video series on Instagram. It's good timing, as Nouvelle prepares to host its annual New Year's Eve party this weekend.
The party starts at 5 p.m. Sunday and reservations are not required. Nouvelle will serve wine by the bottle and glass.
