The Best Thanksgiving Meals You Can Find This Year Are Waiting for You in Cabo

For many people, Thanksgiving is both a lovely and stress-inducing experience all at once. Sure, you get to spend time with family, but on the flip side, you have to spend time with family. But, what if we told you there was a better way? What if we told you, you can run away to Mexico for a delicious, sun-filled, stress-free Thanksgiving break instead? Well, you can, and it’s all thanks to the One&Only Palmilla.

The iconic, ultra-luxury Los Cabos resort, located on the edge of the Baja Peninsula, has announced a series of Thanksgiving celebrations, starting from Nov. 27.

As part of the series, two world-renowned celebrity chefs, Christopher Kostow and Jean-Georges Vongerichten, will each host exclusive dining experiences, where they will showcase their own take on Thanksgiving.

The event will include locally sourced ingredients, mixology pop-ups, premium tequila tastings, and a spectacular fireworks display fit for you and your entire family.

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, Chef Christopher Kostow will take over the kitchen. Then, the hotel explained, guests will dine on a family-style meal at a secret location. But, we do know that the meal will feature Kostow’s famed “New Napa Cuisine,” which pairs a selection of signature wines from Scribe, Sonoma County vintner, with each dish. Reservations are available from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. seatings at $120 per person.

On Friday, Nov. 29, Chef Kostow will host another meal, this time an intimate interpretation of dishes from his acclaimed menu, once again paired with wines from Scribe. That dinner will be held in the resort’s private Herb Garden from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is limited to 12 guests. The dinner is once again $120 per person.

Want more? Stay through Dec., 1 when Chef Jean-Georges hosts a one-of-a-kind five-course dinner. Each meal will be paired with wines from California’s Peter Michael Winery. Following dinner, guests can take part in a silent auction, offering a rare magnum bottle of the winery’s flagship 2006 Les Pavots Bordeaux Blend. The proceeds of the event will go to Los Niños del Capitán, a non-profit dedicated to helping local children living in poverty. Reservations are available from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the dinner is priced at $190 per person.

And on Thanksgiving night guests are invited to attend a special celebration with a dinner hosted at both its restaurants, Agua and SEARED from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. For that dinner, guests will dine on traditional American style foods with a Mexican twist. Both of the resort’s restaurants will offer classic a la carte Thanksgiving dinner menus, as well as inventive, flavorful creations, including mole and barbacoa turkey.

So go ahead, do something different this year and invite your entire family to enjoy Mexico for the holidays and let someone else cook. We promise these guys won’t burn the turkey.
