The Best Solar Eclipse Videos From Ski Resorts Across The Country

total solar eclipse crossed North America Monday with parts of 15 U.S. states falling in the path of totality. From Texas to Maine, skiers enjoyed a couple minutes of darkened skies as the sun was eclipsed.

As such, photos and videos surfaced from across the country documenting the rare occasion. Starting off from the top, Saddleback, ME, shared "a moment [they] won't soon forget."

Sugarloaf Mountain, ME, shared the "sights and sounds" from the moment. Apparently, chunks of ice were whizzing around and people at the top of the mountain had to dig out little snow caves to barricade themselves.

My parents were in attendance, and they really enjoyed the show. They mentioned that the ski down was "very well orchestrated" with Sugarloaf's ambassadors helping the masses of people ski down, especially on Chicken Pitch, a steep part of Tote Road.

The base area doesn't look too bad, either. See below.

Moving over to Vermont, Jay Peak is a gimme, but their video was too spectacular not to re-share.

Sugarbush, also in Vermont, shared a cool time-lapse of the event. Watch below.

Smugg's, too, posted a photo from the event, saying, "a day (or night) we won't soon forget." See below.

Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire might have won this round of photos. See below.

Whitetail Resort in Pennsylvania also shared their capture of the eclipse. See below.

East Coast skiing versus West Coast skiing is a played out debate. But this time, we're pretty sure the East Coast has all of us West Coasters beat in terms of viewing quality of the eclipse. Not that we didn't enjoy it out here, let's be clear, but the East Coast got a total eclipse, minutes of darkness, and the benefit of seeing it from their home resorts.

Tough to beat that!
