The Best Room at... The Maybourne Beverly Hills
Fall is usually one of the busiest times in Los Angeles, but the typical campaigning that dominates the social calendar during awards season is on hold for the labor strikes that have paralyzed the movie and television business. That doesn't mean all culture, even film culture, has come to a standstill in the entertainment capital. On September 15, Harmony Korine debuts at Hauser & Wirth with a series of paintings drawn from his new feature Aggro Dr1ft, which premiered earlier this year at the Venice Film Festival, and a couple of days later, another American auteur, T&C fav John Waters, gets the retrospective treatment at the Academy Museum. There's also new eateries on the scene, including some that may be familiar to New Yorkers. Recently, the Greenwich Village boîte Dante opened at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, itself a relatively recent addition to the tony neighborhood. Here, hotel manager Zachary Lapidus answers a few questions about the properties, its new amenities and what's in store for the rest of 2023.
Tell me about the signature suite at the Maybourne Beverly Hills. What makes it special?
Our Hollywood Suite on the sixth floor is like your own private residence in the heart of Beverly Hills. With the Hollywood Hills set as its backdrop, this 1,800-square-foot one bedroom suite is flooded with natural light, dramatic views from every window and includes its very own wraparound dressing room for our most fashionable guests. Designed by Bryan O’Sullivan, the suite’s living spaces feature a soothing palette of pastel hues, cocooning armchairs and signature scalloped accents combined to create a subtle, playful feel for this refined space. And of course, a sun-soaked private terrace sets the scene for morning coffees or alfresco aperitifs to unwind from a day spent discovering the city.
What is the starting rate for the suite, and what kind of guest packages can you build around it?
The starting rate is $15,000 a night plus tax. Guests are provided with the opportunity to book one bedroom suites at The Maybourne with our newly introduced ‘Suiten Your Stay’ package, which includes a complimentary bespoke experience, from a cocktail masterclass in The Maybourne Bar to the perfect al fresco California picnic.
What is one feature of the hotel that you think first-time visitors will find surprising?
Perched on our 9th floor, a breathtaking expanse of sparkling blue waters and chaise loungers decorates the crown jewel of our property: the rooftop. Unbeknownst to sightseers and pedestrians at ground floor, the real views of the sweeping Hollywood Hills and illustrious zip code are visible from the rooftop oasis of our hotel. And Dante Beverly Hills recently joined our rooftop for its first West coast outpost. Though relaxing chaise loungers and poolside cabanas are exclusively available to hotel guests, Dante’s adjacent open-aired dining room offers glittering views of the Los Angeles skyline.
Tell me about the dining experiences available at the property.
Overlooking the lawns of Beverly Cañon Gardens, our restaurant The Terrace has a unique setting with the charm of a European piazza, with white parasols, a cascading fountain and seasonal Mediterranean inspired dishes, including our signature house-made corn Agnolotti. Dante boasts oven-roasted Italian pizzas and aperitivo-style cocktails, as well as many more menu items centered around a wood-fired oven.
What about the wellness amenities?
The Spa at The Maybourne Beverly Hills is a serene oasis that provides our guests the opportunity to relish in a full day’s sensory journey focused on physical rest. Unparalleled in the city in terms of its scale, the spa spans over 20,000 square feet across two levels and includes 17 treatment rooms and a magnesium-infused mineral pool.

The most iconic and luxurious zip code in the United States is 90210 and The Maybourne Beverly Hills is located at the very heart of The Golden Triangle, where the Richard Meier-designed Gagosian Gallery stands, the Los Angeles grocer Erewhon and a few short steps from glamorous Rodeo Drive, home to Chanel’s recently opened four-floor Peter Marino-designed flagship, its largest boutique in the country.
What’s in store for the rest of 2023 and 2024.
Early fall brings a new annual menu to our lobby-side Maybourne Bar. Titled “Symphony,” head mixologist Christopher Amirault draws creative inspiration from the four compositional elements of music while creatively tying them into the main building blocks of mixology: melody (spirits), harmony (mixer), counterpoint (bitters) and embellishments (bartender’s flourish) to create the most inventive beverages, such as the “Heat Culture,” a personal favorite. Twenty twenty four is sure to excite as well with upcoming activations such as “Claridge’s Afternoon Tea” in the early spring.
