Best Room At... Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s New York Hotel Barriere Fouquet's New York

A taste of Paris has made itself at home amidst the charming cobblestone streets and 19th-century cast iron buildings of New York’s Tribeca neighborhood. In just a short period of time, Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s New York has proven itself to be a chic respite for visitors looking for an authentic Gotham experience away from the hubbub of urban life. With its focus on personalized service and discrete luxury, it's no wonder that this boutique gem with 97 rooms and suites has become a favorite for jet setters like John Hamm, Kate Moss, Hailey Bieber, and Rita Ora.

With its perfect downtown location, Fouquet’s New York provides a gateway to the city's heartbeat while remaining in close proximity to culinary hotspots like Sushi Ichimura, The Odeon, and Frenchette. The hotel's own Brasserie Fouquet's, Par Ici Cafe, hidden Titsou Bar, and elegant Le Vaux rooftop are also outstanding and extend an invitation for visitors to explore a world of flavors and breathtaking views over downtown New York and the Hudson River.

Interior designer Martin Brudnizki, responsible for the glamorous interiors of Annabel’s in London and Soho House in Miami, infuses Fouquet's interiors with an exquisite blend of tradition and modernity. The Art Déco-inspired décor seamlessly intertwines with the neighborhood's residential charm, creating an atmosphere that resonates with both the city's buzz and quiet sophistication.

On the eve of the hotel’s one year anniversary, we talked to Fouquet’s New York General Manager, Karen Earp, about the best room at Fouquet’s and what makes the hotel so special.

What do you consider to be the best room at the property and why?

My personal favorite accommodation is the Tribeca Terrace Suite, located on the seventh floor of the hotel. From the moment you walk into the sun-drenched living room, you are instantly transported to a Parisian apartment, adorned with art-deco furniture and elegant finishes. What sets this suite apart is the unparalleled views of the downtown Manhattan skyline from the expansive terrace. The large soaking tub in the primary bathroom is also quite a treat.

How much does it cost per night?

The Tribeca Terrace Suite starts at $4,350 per night.

How would you describe the guests and the vibe at the hotel?

Fouquet’s New York’s vibe can be described as the marriage of Parisian grandeur and sophistication with the effortless cool factor that inevitably vibrates through the streets of downtown Manhattan. Our guests appreciate art and design, and most importantly, they value the exceptional level of service that we aim to provide at each moment throughout their stay.

What feeling about Tribeca do you hope to impart to guests?

Tribeca is uniquely elevated-yet-relaxed, which is how we aim for each of our guests to feel when they depart the hotel. Tribeca is largely residential and evokes the charm of New York in the early 1900s with its cobblestone streets and red brick buildings. We see it as a conveniently located escape, as we are located on one of the quietest blocks in the city, yet are only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Soho and the West Village.

What's one thing about the hotel that you think first-time visitors will find surprising?

While Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s New York is ideally located on the quiet and residential streets of Tribeca, guests will be surprised by the hotel’s proximity to New York City’s premier shopping district in Soho, the most frequented streets of the West Village, and best destinations along the Hudson River. Fouquet’s expansive art program also includes a memorable gorilla sculpture by French artist Eddy Maniez, of whom we have named Meurice, located on the cellar level that tends to surprise and amuse our guests.

What’s a local attraction that you always recommend?

The Hudson River is located one block from the hotel and I always recommend that our guests go for a walk or bike ride along the West Side Highway to Pier 25 or the Whitney Museum of American Art.
