Best Romantic Comedies to Watch, According to Your Zodiac Sign

Just in time for Valentine's Day.

There’s something utterly magical about the way romantic comedies, filled with Hollywood clichés and questionable love lessons, can transport you from your somewhat dull or stressful life into a world where love and laughter is the language everybody speaks. It's important to acknowledge the tired tropes and questionable pick-up lines; rom-coms aren’t necessarily meant to reflect reality, but largely act as an escape for anyone who wants to believe in romanticized love, despite the harsh truths of the real world.

While films such as Never Been Kissed, Bringing Down the House, and Say Anything are among the more popular go-to romantic comedies, there are plenty more love-filled stories that deserve your attention. From cheesy classics to adorable Netflix originals, we’ve matched the best romantic comedies to their zodiac equivalents. Whether you're single or with a partner, each of these movies will tickle your heart in one way or another. Trust the stars, eat that tin full of chocolates, and let your zodiac-chosen film make you believe in love again, because you deserve it. Check out which rom-com to watch on Valentine's Day, according to your zodiac sign, here.

Aries: The Wedding Planner

The Wedding Planner is a cheesy rom-com fit for an ever sincere, always direct, and somewhat stubborn Aries in love. Like those born under the ram sign, Jennifer Lopez’s character, Mary, is passionate about her career, so much so that she seems to neglect her love life. But after being saved from a runaway dumpster by a handsome pediatrician, played by Matthew McConaughey, this hardworking wedding planner discovers there's more to life than using work to avoid personal relationships. For any love-sick Aries out there, this rom-com is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Taurus: Easy A

Much like Olive, Emma Stone’s character in the film, Taurus signs are dependable when friends need them the most. Of course, every Taurus is also ambitious in life and love, which makes Easy A the perfect romantic comedy for this zodiac sign. Throughout the film, Olive embraces the ways of the bull, using her high school’s rumor mill to her advantage, transforming a white lie into a social-climbing strategy no one can compete with. Her reputation is tarnished as a result of outdated stereotypes, but Olive’s down-to-earth personality and independent thinking allow her to transform a bad situation to her benefit.

Gemini: She’s the Man

This might be a little on the nose, but Amanda Bynes’s She’s the Man brings a double-life and Gemini power to the rom-com world. Posing as her twin brother, Amanda takes his place at a rival high school to play soccer. But when she falls in love with her roommate, played by Channing Tatum, the struggle to maintain her dual-identity tests Viola’s adaptability and forces her to rely on her wit and humor to keep up the charade, traits that allow Geminis to thrive, no matter what life throws their way.

Cancer: Bridget Jones

Say what you want about Bridget Jones, but the love-troubled British career woman is the epitome of a Cancer in love. Like the crab sign, Bridget, played by Renée Zellweger, is spontaneous and emotional, as ready to have a dinner party with her lifelong friends as she is to stay home by herself eating a pint of ice cream in her pajamas while watching Frasier reruns. Ultimately, it’s her sensitive nature and imagination that allow her to fall deeply in love with the man of her dreams, after surviving a bit of high-stakes drama, of course. If a love-sick British romantic comedy isn’t your style, consider rewatching the Ryan Reynolds film Definitely, Maybe, an equally Cancer-esque romantic comedy.

Leo: When in Rome

Kristen Bell’s When In Rome channels a Leo's vivacity into a 91-minute romantic comedy that will make you think twice before stealing coins from a magic fountain. Starring Josh Duhamel, Will Arnett, and Kristen’s IRL husband Dax Shepard, When In Rome proves constant love and adoration isn’t always a good thing. Nevertheless, this unique take on a love story will boost any Leo's energy and remind them that sometimes it’s OK to put your ego aside and think optimistically about love.

Virgo: To All the Boys I've Loved Before

Practicality and an analytical mind don’t typically make for a passionate love story, but these Virgo traits are apparent in Netflix’s teen-focused rom-com To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Featuring Lana Condor and Noah Centineo, this modern-day high school love story is unexpected. Lana’s character, Lara Jean, agrees to “date” Noah’s character, Peter Kavinsky, as part of a charade to make his ex-girlfriend jealous, and crafts a well-thought-out contract to protect her from unwanted heartbreak and keep up the charade. Despite their meticulous planning (shout-out to another infamous Virgo trait), Lara Jean and Peter find that keeping their agreement isn’t as easy as it might seem when they start catching feelings for each other. But if teen rom-coms aren’t your thing, any Virgo will enjoy the star-powered film Think Like a Man, arguably less cheesy than TATBILB, and just as good.

Libra: Hitch

Lovable Libras always put others first, just like Hitch in this early 2000s flick of the same name. Romantic and charming, Hitch uses his Libra-esque characteristics to help strangers fall in love. Perhaps the most well-balanced of the signs, Libras will enjoy Hitch’s laid-back approach to falling in love and the genuine enjoyment he gets from helping others find their soulmates. With Will Smith, Eva Mendes, and Kevin James, there’s a whole lot to love about this adorable rom-com.

Scorpio: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

For the take-no-bullsh*t Scorpios out there, the only fitting romantic comedy is Kate Hudson’s How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, which questions both the authenticity of true love and whether or not men really are trash. When an undercover journalist bets she can lose a guy in 10 days, she meets an advertising superstar who bets that he can make a woman fall in love with him in the same amount of time. With contradicting private agendas and an overall hesitation to fall in love, the characters in this romantic comedy flip love story tropes on their heads, in typical Scorpio style.

Sagittarius: Sweet Home Alabama

When big-city gal Melanie Smooter, played by Reese Witherspoon, returns to her small hometown to demand a divorce from her high school sweetheart, she quickly finds that sometimes it’s hard to put out an old flame. Sagittariuses everywhere will relate to Melanie’s no-holds-barred attitude and undeniable impatience — a true archer’s one and only flaw.

Capricorn: 10 Things I Hate About You

A Capricorn in love? Never. Forever cynical Capricorns deserve a romantic comedy that fits their ever-doubting souls and 10 Things I Hate About You does just that. While people under the goat sign are often seen as pessimistic and even unemotional at times, these characteristics ultimately protect a Capricorn’s delicate heart, just like Kat Stratford in this cult-favorite rom-com from the early ‘90s. Starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger, this film proves love can be great, if you let your guard down.

Aquarius: 27 Dresses

Only an ever-private Aquarius can appreciate the unspoken intricacies of Katherine Heigl’s 27 Dresses. Similar to those under this air sign, Katherine’s character, Jane, is a great friend who shows up for her BFFs' weddings, no matter how ugly the bridesmaid's dress is that she's asked to wear. But when a reporter looks to profile the forever bridesmaid, she guards her story and her heart. But for how long? Those who fall under the water-bearer sign will appreciate the film’s inventive use of a sibling rivalry and cheer as the sociable Jane learns to open up to strangers and love.

Pisces: The Princess Bride

For the daydreaming Pisces, there’s no better escapist romantic comedy than The Princess Bride. With swashbuckling pirates, fire swamps filled with NYC-sized rats, and a barrage of oddly named characters, this ‘80s flick brings to life a mythical world of love and triumph. Romantic Pisces will fall in love with Westley and Buttercup’s star-crossed lovers storyline and wish they too could escape to the mythical world of Florin.
