PANAMA CITY — Memorial Day weekend is coming up, and what better way to celebrate than sitting back, relaxing and enjoying a juicy burger?
With May being National Hamburger Month, here are a dozen local restaurants where you can grab a quality burger. Featured in alphabetical order, the list was compiled with help from Visit Panama City Beach and Visit Panama City. It does not include national chains.
Alice's on Bayview
This seafood restaurant is located at 1000 Bayview Ave. in Panama City. With a focus on simplicity, this restaurant is known for its tradition burger, which cost $12.50 and comes with one side. It also offers two specialty burgers − the Cheddar and Bacon and the Cheddar and Swiss − both of which cost $15 and also come with one side.

American Charlie Grill & Tavern
This American-style restaurant is located at 473 Richard Jackson Blvd. in Panama City Beach. All of its burgers are completely customizable, apart from its signature burger, the Uncle Sam Jam, which features two patties, American cheese, mushrooms, bacon and queso Blanco. The Uncle Sam Jam cost $22 and comes with one side.

Serving a little bit of everything, this restaurant is located at 1316 Beck Ave. in Panama City. It only offers one burger on its menu, the Drew's Big Angus Burger, which boasts traditional toppings and is served on a Kaiser roll. It cost $14.95 and comes with garlic parmesan waffle fries.

Specializing in burgers, this restaurant is located at 10031 Hutchison Blvd. in Panama City Beach. It allows customers to build their own burger with a variety of toppings. It also features five signature burgers, each of which is named after a state. All cost $16 and come with one side. They are:

This Irish Pub is located at 461 Harrison Ave. in Panama City. It features a variety of burgers, with the Belfast Heathen Burger considered its house specialty burger. The brioche bun burger, which cost $16 and is paired with one side, comes with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, fried onions and BBQ sauce.

Lone Star Boil House
This Cajun restaurant is located at 320 W. Fifth St. in Panama City. It is known for the Lone Star Burger, which can be customized with different toppings and features a patty made from blended steak and bacon. With both indoor and outdoor seating, along with live music, this restaurant at 4723 Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach is a favorite. It is most known for two burgers: the Double Bacon Egg and Cheese and the Old McDonald.

Specializing in burgers and shakes, this drive-in restaurant is located at 1449 Harrison Ave. in Panama City. While it offers a variety of burgers − including a mushroom swiss burger, chili burger and jalapeno bacon burger − it is most known for its Jumbo Cheese Burger, which is a half-pound burger served with traditional toppings.
