All of the Best Photos Of the Royal Family From the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Weekend

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations have arrived! While the festivities unofficially kicked off a few weeks ago with the Royal Windsor Horse Show, the real pageantry has been saved for this weekend, when the royal family was out in force to honor the Queen's historic reign. Along with an extra special Trooping the Colour (the Queen's annual birthday parade—not to be confused with her actual birthday) and the attendant royal viewing from the Buckingham Palace balcony, the weekend is planned to be packed with parties, services, and even some horse racing.

The event also marks a major moment for the royals themselves, as it will prove a rare gathering of so many senior royals. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and their kids have announced they will be in attendance—their first big royal event since they stepped back from their life as working royals, and the first time baby Lili will be meeting her royal relatives. Another young royal, Princess Beatrice's daughter Sienna, is also likely to make her royal debut, joining the Queen's eleven other great-grandchildren in celebrating the monarch.

The first major event of the Platinum Jubilee weekend was Trooping the Colour, the Queen's annual birthday parade. While the Queen didn't ride in the parade herself this year, many of her royal relatives did, including Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and Kate's three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The Cambridge kids made their Trooping the Colour carriage debut this year, and Prince Louis even wore an outfit with extra special meaning for the occasion—the same sailor suit his dad wore 37 years ago to the Trooping the Colour celebrations.

While many of the royals arrived by carriage, the Queen's daughter, Princess Anne, took up her traditional position on horseback—an honor afforded to her as a royal colonel of the Household Division.

The Queen's youngest son, Prince Edward, also appeared in the parade, alongside his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and their two children Lady Louise Windsor (who donned the same hat her mother wore for Trooping the Colour in 2009) and James, Viscount Severn.

One of the biggest moments of the royal year is always the gathering on the Buckingham Palace balcony for Trooping the Colour, and this year was no exception.

The Cambridge family took in the traditional fly-by.

The Queen seemed delighted on her big day, and even selected on outfit that gave a special nod to the occasion—the same suit she wore for her Platinum Jubilee portrait. She also pinned on her Diamond Guards brooch, which she wears every year for Trooping the Colour; it combines the badges of the five regiments of the British and Commonwealth armies who participate in the event.

The real show-stopper, though, was Prince Louis, who really hammed it up on the balcony, to the delight of his fans.

While they didn't make a public appearance on the first day of the Jubilee, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out with the rest of the royal family for a thanksgiving service in honor of the Queen—their first public event with the royals since they stepped back two years ago.

Meghan wore a head-to-toe cream ensemble by Dior and her favorite Birks earrings.

Sisters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, as well as Beatrice's husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were also in attendance. Many have speculated that Beatrice and Edo's baby daughter Sienna could make her royal debut for the jubilee festivities, but she hasn't appeared yet.

Prince Charles, the Queen's eldest son and heir to the throne, and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall attended the thanksgiving service.

As did Prince William and Kate Middleton, who donned a sunny yellow dress and hat combo for the occasion.

Princess Anne and her husband Timothy Laurence spent some time with Anne's brother, Prince Edward, and his family, Sophie Countess of Wessex, James, Viscount Severn, and Lady Louise Windsor on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral, where the service was held.

Sophie and Louise shared a subtle mother-daughter look in a gradient of dusty rose pink.
