The Best ‘Masked Singer’ Predictions and Theories on the Internet

Last week, nine million Americans watched as six elaborately disguised celebrities competed against each other in a singing competition. Yes, you read that right.

FOX’s new show The Masked Singer premiered January 2 and changed our Wednesday nights forever (or at least until the season finale).

To recap: The new reality show—which is the American version of the South Korean original—features 12 diff celebs completely disguised, head to toe, in insanely intricate costumes that are somehow as fascinating as they are terrifying (there is a very large raven that will most likely induce some Alfred Hitchcock nightmares).

Viewers are given somewhat cryptic clues about each character. And these celeb mystery singers have fans channeling their inner Olivia Benson trying to solve the case.

Last week, we were given clues about the first six performers (we’ve only *seen* the other six but will get more clues tonight).

The first episode revealed that the Hippo was Pittsburgh Steelers football player Antonio Brown, but the rest remain a ~mystery~.

And viewers have not been shy about sharing their predictions. But before the betting pools open, here’s what we know about each contestant and what the Twitterverse is hypothesizing:

The Peacock

Song choice: “The Greatest Show,” from The Greatest Showman

What we know: The Peacock is a dude who has been performing since he was v young. Was good friends with MJ and said, “It’s probably been a while since your mom had a poster of me on her bedroom wall.” @Mom, help.

Fan theories: Hugh Jackman, Donny Osmond, David Hasselhoff

The Monster

Song choice: “Don’t Stop Me Now,” by Queen

What we know: Another dude. The celeb said he chose a monster disguise because that’s what society thinks of him (??). He also said he was at the top of his game but the game turned on him (again, ??).

Fan theories: CeeLo Green, T-Pain, Seal, Wayne Brady, MC Hammer

The Deer

Song choice: “Thunder,” by Imagine Dragons

What we know: The Deer is 6'3" (which makes his costume even more frightening). He said he would “take the fifth” after being asked if he was an NFL player. So we’re gonna guess he’s an NFL player.

Fan theories: Terry Bradshaw, The Rock, Sylvester Stallone, Tim Tebow

The Lion

Song choice: “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody,” by Fergie

What we know: She claims to be Hollywood royalty but wants people to know she’s her own person. Also, she says her lion pride is filled with “lots of women.” (She’s got our vote.)

Fan theories: Kate Hudson, Khloé Kardashian, Rumer Willis, Carrie Underwood, Tracee Ellis Ross

The Unicorn

Song choice: “Fight Song,” by Rachel Platten

What we know: A female contestant who was born in Beverly Hills and resents her childhood. (That narrows it down to basically every woman on RHOBH.) And she said, “They call me ‘Bird,’” which only adds to the confusion.

Fan theories: Paris Hilton, Tori Spelling, Paris Jackson, Drew Barrymore

And tonight, after a long, grueling, mystery-filled week, we’ll FINALLY learn clues about the other six contestants: an alien in a red leather getup who honestly looks fierce AF. A tropical dude with faux washboard abs and a literal pineapple for a head. An all-white rabbit who will probs haunt your dreams. A poodle with pink-accented hair and booties. A v futuristic bee. And an all-black raven with larger-than-life wings that are straight off the runway from Satan’s Victoria’s Secret show.
