I wear leggings nearly every day. Not only are they part of my work-from-home uniform, but I wear them for just about anything that forces me out of the house, like walking my dog, running errands or going for a jog. As a result, I own well over a dozen pairs, all in classic black. Of course, they're not all created equal: Some hold you in, some make your booty look good, others have a soft fleece lining for cold days. My favorite that checks all the boxes? The real magic lies in the waist. They go up impossibly high, well past my belly button. That extra height means that they're less likely to roll down throughout the day or uncomfortably dig in. They also offer gentle — not restrictive — compression for your tummy. Don't worry about working out or bending over to grab groceries in them — they're totally squat-proof. There's even a hidden pocket at the waistband for your keys or an extra hair tie.
An unexpected bonus? Despite being warm enough for blustery New York winters, they won't get soaked and sweaty if you wear them to the gym, or on a milder day. I'm nearly always overheated, and these don't leave me baking.
Plus, as someone who hates shiny leggings, these are completely matte, which makes them look (and feel) more expensive.
