We've got some udderly amazing news if you love a great scoop of ice cream or a glass of delicious ice-cold, farm-fresh milk.

Chaney’s Dairy Barn, a working farm and ice cream shop in Bowling Green, Kentucky, has been awarded four gold medals at the 2023 Los Angeles International Dairy Competition.

That's a big deal because we've herd that for those in the dairy biz, the 100-year-old competition is the equivalent of the Olympic Games for farmers who produce ice cream, milk, cheese and butter.

Chaney's Dairy Barn received the honors for its moo-velous "Vanilla" and "Wow Now Brownie Cow" ice creams and the farm's whole and chocolate milk.

According to Carl Chaney, co-owner and founder of Chaney’s Dairy Barn, "in-house" production sets his products apart from the competition.

The Chaney's herd of Jersey cows produce milk that packs a punch with higher butterfat, protein and calcium than conventional milk. The farm-fresh milk is transformed into a delicious award-winning frozen treat by adding premium ingredients like pure cane sugar, fruit, chocolate and vanilla, he said.

“It has taken generations to be this delicious. My ancestors started farming here back in the late 1800s on the same plot of land," Chaney said. "My dad always wanted to see the milk from his Jersey cows, his pride, his joy and his life, on store shelves. We have known for years that our product is fantastic and to have our efforts recognized at such a level is incredibly profound for our entire family.”
