We got some sneak peaks of celebrity Halloween decorations, including Christina Hall's skeletal wonderland, and we've seen that some early bird celebs wholly skip over certain holidays and go straight to the end of the year, like Britney Spears and her October Christmas tree. However, the thing we like best about following our favorite home reno stars and interior designers on Halloween is seeing all the amazing costumes we can pull as inspiration for next year. (Yes, we're already planning our costumes. Aren't you?)

Now that Halloween 2023 has come and gone, we've noticed a few trends. There was a plethora of throwback costumes from our faves, posting gems from as recent as last year and as far back as decades ago. The Property Brothers, who are possibly bigger fans of the holiday than we are, have both been dropping photos of themselves in costume when they were younger. Tarek and Heather El Moussa both shared an adorable throwback on their Instagram stories from last year when she was still pregnant with baby Tristan. But as much as we love these oldies but goodies, we are all about the latest Halloween looks, too! So let's get into it. Below, find our favorite celebs' Halloween costumes for 2023.

Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel

The (relatively) newly engaged couple opted out of a coordinating costume this year, instead creating a crossover of their own. Scott dressed up as Link from the Legend of Zelda video game series, and Deschanel decided to go as a classic Little Red Riding Hood. In another Instagram post of his costume, Scott is seen posing with a fake sword. Give us your thoughts: Do you think Jonathan can rock a bleached hairdo and blue colored contacts? We're loving the dedication to the bit!

Drew Scott

After a precious family outing to the botanical gardens, Drew Scott decided to give every single person a jump scare and posted a video of him dressed as Howie Mandel. In turn, Mandel popped up dressed as Scott, offering everyone a rare view of the TV personality with hair. Though we don't think Scott's goal was to be frightening, we have to credit him with giving us the evening scaries. It appears that Scott's bald head is (thankfully) a filter, but his look was giving Dr. Evil.

Drew Scott... Again

Drew Scott thinks Halloween is a holiday so nice, you dress up twice! Thankfully, this costume is a whole lot cuter than his last. Drew Scott, Linda Phan, and baby Parker reunited with Jonathan and Zooey in their family Halloween costume as characters from My Neighbor Totoro, a Studio Ghibli film. If you're familiar with the animated tale, Scott dressed up as Mei Kusakabe, Phan was Satsuki Kusakabe, and Parker was the precious Totoro.

Joanna Gaines

Can you believe they just released another reboot of Ghost Busters? Jokes aside, Joanna Gaines absolutely killed (no pun intended) this movie-inspired look as one of her kids ran around as a mini ghost. We waited all Halloween day for the reveal, and we have to say it was totally worth it.

Christina Hall

Rather than a spooky, scary skeleton, Christina Hall decided to dress up as a colorful one. However, it's two of her kids who really stole the Halloween costume show. The two boys' blow-up shark costumes are hilariously cute, and we love the added touch of Josh as the potential victim of the shark attack. You may notice that daughter Taylor is missing from the family photo in Christina's Halloween Instagram post, but worry not: Hall posted on her Instagram story that Taylor's just at that age where she'd rather go out with her friends than trick-or-treat with her fam! We get where Taylor's coming from.

Heather Rae El Moussa

There's a new sheriff in town, and he's only nine months old! For baby Tristan's first Halloween, the El Moussa clan dressed up for the wild, wild west, with Heather donning a Barbie pink bandana, hat, and boots, of course. We love this themed look from the family, but people in the comments are calling out Tarek's boot situation: "Super cute!! But tell Tarek cowboys wear their jeans outside of their boots 🤣😜" one commenter wrote. Either way, this coordinating costume is adorable.

Jasmine Roth

Families who dress up together, stay together. Jasmine Roth and her crew went as characters from Disney movie Moana. Daughter Hazel was (of course) the star of the movie, and Roth and her husband, Brett, dressed up as side characters from the animated film—Hei Hei the chicken and Tamatoa the shiny crab. Roth wrote in her caption that she bought herself the child's size of her chicken outfit to save some money and now regrets it, but we think she still looks so fun.

Trixie Mattel

One of our favorite hotel owners and decorators, Trixie Mattel, opted for a more glamorous Halloween costume this year. The soon-to-be HGTV newbie dressed up as the chicest bat we've ever seen, with her classic drag makeup altered to look more like bat wings and a stunning headpiece.

Jenny Marrs

Though she hasn't posted a picture of all the costumes on her feed (yet), Jenny Marrs did add a photo of the entire family on her Instagram story. In a hodgepodge of costumes, the Marrs gang did not disappoint with the playfulness of their looks. There does seem to be a kind of Western vibe going on with a few of the kids, but other than that, there's no apparent theme. Marrs also posted a sweet Halloween message on her profile feed!

Jeremiah Brent

Interior designer and author Nate Berkus's other half, Jeremiah Brent, can now add "centaur" to his list of credits. It's not every day that you go to work with two extra legs! No shade at all to Brent, but this air-filled outfit is perfect for the lazy costumer. You can wear your normal clothes while technically being in a costume!

Chrishell Stause

We love pop singer Troye Sivan as much as the next person, but this is some top tier fangirl dedication. Chrishell Stause and her wife, G Flip—an Australian musician—dressed up as actor Ross Lynch and Sivan from the singer's latest music video. We couldn't even recognize Stause at first! Make sure to go to her page to see her other costume too.
