Ironically, or maybe not, the sport with an incredibly strict dress code has, for the most part, featured some really bad outfits. For a while there, golfers struggled with an image issue. They were all thrown into category of stuffy old dads, something that cool teenagers can rebel against. Then, the pandemic happened. And everyone started playing golf again. Now, four years into the Golfaissaince, there are a lot of great brands in the space Some of the old guard, slinging polos and performance pants, are still here, but there's an increasingly large sect of young streetwear-focused labels that are making golf... trendy. Ok, not like guys wearing pearl necklaces trendy. It's kind of similar to how tennis and hiking are having style revivals, albeit at a much slower pace.
And it makes sense! During the pandemic, as happened with tennis, people hit the course in droves. Remember how hard it was to get a tee time at your municipal during 2020? Play has increased at a rate not seen since the late '90s, when a guy named Tiger took the golf world by storm. So, if you're new to the game, or just want to refresh your look, these are the best golf clothing brands to build a stylish and functional on-course wardrobe.
