Coachella 2019 officially kicked off on Friday, April 12, and it’s safe to say that the annual music festival is off to a truly epic start. On just the first day alone, festival-goers got to witness surprise appearances from Cardi B, Selena Gomez, and Jordyn Woods, not to mention crowd-pleasing performances from Kacey Musgraves, Janelle Monáe, and Rosalía — just to name a few.

Of course, it’s impossible to talk about Coachella without talking about the fashion, and this year’s celebrity looks did not disappoint. Some stars brought all the yeehaw energy possible, while others opted for classic — yet totally ‘grammable — denim cutoffs and crop tops. Ahead, check out some of the best celeb outfits from Coachella's first weekend, guaranteed to inspire your summer wardrobe…or make you want to book a desert vacation, stat.

Hailey Bieber

While attending the Levi's party at the Sands Hotel & Spa in Indian Wells, the newly minted Mrs. Bieber rocked a denim jacket over a black lace corset, paired with wide-leg denim pants. The outfit was finished off with thick gold hoop earrings, an equally thick gold necklace, black sunglasses, and red high-tops.

Amandla Stenberg

Also making an appearance at the Levi's event, Amandla opted for a patchwork denim corset, wide-leg jeans with sneakers peeking out from the hems, and hoop earrings. The look was made complete with trendy red sunnies.

Gigi Hadid

There was certainly a lot going on with Gigi Hadid's Coachella outfit. With a zip-up tie-dye vest, white ribbed crop top, and an array of colorful layered bracelets and necklaces, that would certainly be enough for one Instagrammable look. But the model's textured light-colored pants with multiple belts and buckles is definitely the scene-stealer here, and we give her props for not only being able to figure them out (I'd probably get stuck in the dressing room), but making them look totally flawless.

Lizzo and Aquaria

With a coral crop top, short denim shorts, sneakers, and lemon-colored statement sunnies, Lizzo was the epitome of Coachella sunshine. Posing for a picture alongside her was Aquaria, rocking a green and white dress with tights adorned with the scribble motif seen in Moschino's Spring 2019 collection at Milan Fashion Week.

Billie Eilish

From posing on a bed à la The Exorcist to singing her iconic songs in front of a screen playing her eerie music videos, Billie Eilish's Coachella performance was definitely one to remember. As for her outfit, the singer-songwriter kept things comfortable and chic, wearing a custom white hoodie and shorts, paired with white high top sneakers and socks, finishing off the look with DALMATA jewelry.

Jaden Smith

During his Friday performance, Jaden Smith wore an all-black outfit with colorful accents, depicting various images and words in alternating lines running up his legs and torso. The ensemble looked decently comfy, which is good, considering part of his set included jumping atop a Tesla.

Paris Hilton

Never one to shy away from having a fashion ~moment~, Paris Hilton showed up to Coachella rocking a series of cat ears — like these metallic ones she wore to the Neon Carnival on Saturday. She paired the accessory with Matrix-esque sunglasses, a sheer black dress with neon green embellishments, gloves, and lace-up black booties.

Shay Mitchell

You can always count on Shay Mitchell for an outfit worthy of all the Instagram likes. The YOU star was seen wearing a black dress with cutouts and a fringe hem over a black bodysuit. Her outfit was glammed up to the max with an ornate gold belt, several large gold bangles, and chic black ankle boots.

Rosalía

Rosalía's eye-catching outfit was definitely a crowd-pleaser during her set on Friday, April 12. Dressed in vinyl red pants, a matching cropped jacket over an embellished black bra, and white platform sneakers, the singer-songwriter definitely looked like she was bringing us fashion inspo from the moon (in the best way possible).

On Saturday, Rosalía returned to the stage during J Balvin's set to perform their collab "Con Altura." Dressed in a purple and gold Louis Vuitton tracksuit, the singer-songwriter danced alongside some fluffy clouds while sporting cute high pigtails. Equally as vibrant, J Balvin wore a colorful shirt and matching shorts, coordinating perfectly with his rainbow hair.

H.E.R.

On Friday, H.E.R. was on board with the burnt orange trend, wearing a loose-fitting long sleeved top, matching pants, and slide-on UGGs. The singer-songwriter kept things chic with round sunnies and large gold hoops.

The next day, she opted for a head-to-toe polka dot look in the form of a Moschino sweatshirt with matching pants. Black sneakers, cool nighttime sunglasses, and a mini bun hairstyle polished off the look, making it totally 'gram-worthy.

Kiernan Shipka

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star was definitely channeling her witchy character with this black maxi dress, complete with ruffled layers and fluttering sleeves.

Alisha Boe

13 Reasons Why actor Alisha Boe also went with the LBD vibes, opting for a form-fitting long dress with a flared hem, adorned with gold buttons down the front. The black boots were definitely the cherry on top of this chic look.

Cardi B

Never one to shy away from a bold look, Cardi B stunned in a powder-blue bodysuit with fringe all along the lower half, while sharing the stage with Selena Gomez. To add to her look, Cardi wore a corset-like floral vest, cinched tightly around her waist with a thick belt.

Selena Gomez

Selena opted for an all-white suit, complete with romantic lace sleeves and wide-leg trousers, for her performance alongside Cardi. She kept her hair long and loose, braiding just one portion of it along the side of her head.

Jordyn Woods

Between surprising the Coachella crowd during Jaden Smith’s set and appearing in her first-ever music video, Jordyn has had quite the busy weekend! The model looked ready for the warm desert weather in a sheer lime and yellow shirt over a lacy bra, paired with light denim cutoffs.

BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK made Coachella history by being the first female K-pop group to take the festival’s stage — and they looked amazing while doing so. Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé all rocked coordinating outfits of white, black, gold, and silver, complete with lace-up boots and eye-catching jewelry.

Vanessa Morgan

The Riverdale actor was the embodiment of Coachella fashion in a matching crocheted crop top and mini-skirt, paired with tan booties. Her look was topped off with a handful of rainbow-colored beads in her blonde hair, and plenty of body glitter.

Tommy Dorfman

Actor Tommy Dorfman couldn’t resist a good Instagram moment as he posed in front of a sparkly pink wall in a half-open button-up shirt, ripped jeans, and boots. The 13 Reasons Why star also had a cute fashion moment with Billie Lourd at an event sponsored by UGG and Desert X.

Billie Lourd

Speaking of Billie, she also found a ‘grammable backdrop in the desert, posing in front of a bright orange wall, dressed head to toe in a similar hue. Even the straps of her sandals showed off the burnt orange shade, perfect for an afternoon at Coachella.

Kacey Musgraves

Fringe is definitely having a moment this year at Coachella, and Kacey went all-in on the trend with her long-sleeved orange fringe dress. The singer-songwriter accessorized the pumpkin-colored garment with a vibrant gold belt…and zero shoes. You do you, Kacey!

Halsey

Fresh off the excitement from her collab with BTS, Halsey took a moment to pose for the ‘gram at Coachella with Youngblud. The “Eastside” singer was seen wearing a tie-dye crop top, denim shorts, and black high-tops with neon green laces — AKA summer in an outfit.

Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monáe’s performance outfits were certainly unforgettable. She was seen wearing a long-sleeved black, red, and white latex bodysuit over decorative stockings during part of her set, finishing off the look with a coordinating cap and white-tipped patent leather boots. Other outfits included a long jacket with a black-and-white pattern, light-catching skin-tight silver pants, and a long military-style jacket with strong shoulders. Stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn described the look as a “starship commander from an amazing Afrofuture planet,” adding that all of the pieces were inspired by different time periods.

Tierra Whack

As another surprise Coachella appearance, Tierra took the stage during Janelle’s set. Dressed head to toe in neon green — her poofy dress, leggings, sneakers, and hoop earrings were all the exact lime shade — Tierra was a vibrant vision, adding another pop of color with bold coral eyeshadow.

Slick Woods

Always one to look comfortable and chic, Slick Woods was photographed during the UGG x Desert X event wearing a white sports bra, Karl Kani leggings, and slide-on grey UGG sandals. The model finished off the look with sunglasses and an aptly-draped fanny pack.

Barbie Ferreira

Layering was the name of Barbie’s Coachella fashion game. The model was photographed wearing a long orange coat over a silky red top tucked into black trousers. She finished off the look with trendy sunglasses, open-toed UGGs, and several necklaces.
