If you’ve been lobbying your city for safer cycling infrastructure, People for Bikes’ new list of the 10 Best New Bike Lanes of 2015 will give you a lot to add to your urban-planning vision board.

From brand-new green lanes taking over bike-friendly cities—to protected intersections in metos hardly synonymous with safe cycling—the list is a quick tour through every urban cyclist’s fantasy commute.

What makes a good bike lane? According to the list, it’s a combination of curb protection, street planter dividers, bike signals that give cyclists a head start across intersections—and even street art. Once again it's clear that 2015 has been the "year of the protected bike lane," and now we’re seeing the design spread to cities all across the US.
